Booking terms and conditions
Essential information
The service is provided by Roberto Parato, a self-employed professional holding an Italian VAT number, trading as “Roberto Chef” (“Roberto”). Italian VAT 01621570520, tax code PRTRRT76P15C495V, tax domicile at Località Stazione di Castelnuovo Berardenga 7/B, 53041 Asciano (SI), Italy. Phone +39 366 456 0063, email hello@robertochef.com.
Italian and English are provided for clarity. Mandatory Italian and European consumer law applies to consumer customers. If an interpretation differs, the Italian text prevails unless mandatory law grants the customer a different protection; where the meaning of a term is in doubt, the interpretation most favourable to the consumer prevails.
Purchased service and contract documents
The service is the one described in the order summary or, for a special request, in the expressly accepted proposal. The summary identifies date, time, location, guest count, package, menu or level of customisation, price, deposit, balance and any travel or accommodation costs. No promotional message, informal conversation or partner statement changes the contract unless confirmed in writing by Roberto.
How the service is performed
The service is performed personally by Roberto Parato, in the kitchen of the location named by the customer. For private dining every dish is prepared on the spot, at the time of the service. In a cooking class the participants make the dishes with Roberto and taste them at the end of the lesson.
What is included and excluded
The price includes only the items stated in the summary. For private dining, lunches and dinners, the groceries are not included in the price: they are paid separately, as described in the next section. In cooking classes the ingredients are included in the price as class materials. Unless confirmed otherwise in writing, drinks, flowers, entertainment, rentals, travel and accommodation not stated in the summary, venue permissions and any third-party service are not included. A cost not stated is not payable without the customer’s approval.
Groceries for private dining
For private dining the customer authorises Roberto to buy, in the customer’s name and on the customer’s behalf, the ingredients needed for the chosen menu. Purchases are made at shop price, with no mark-up, and belong to the customer, including anything left over. To have the purchase documents made out to the customer, Roberto gives the shops the name and billing address stated in the order.
The groceries are paid on the day of the service, separately from the price paid online, in cash or by bank transfer to the account held by Roberto Parato. At that moment the customer receives the purchase documents made out to them and a summary of the purchases. The amount reimbursed for the groceries is not a fee to Roberto.
The cost depends on the menu and the number of guests. The groceries usually start from about 50 euro in total for the whole group and often stay within 100 euro: this is an indication, not a quote or a commitment. Before the service the customer may set a maximum amount in writing, and Roberto will not exceed it without the customer’s consent.
Groceries are bought only for the day of the service. If the customer cancels, the cancellation policy below applies to the price paid online and nothing is due for the groceries. If Roberto cancels, any groceries already bought are at his expense and are never charged to the customer.
Price, currency, deposit, balance and invoices
All contract prices are in euro. The price shown in the summary is the final price and includes any tax due. Standard bookings require a 30 percent deposit when ordered and the 70 percent balance fourteen days before the event. If the booking is concluded within fourteen days of the event, the full price is due when ordered. For special requests, multi-day services or groups requiring assessment, the deposit, balance and deadlines are those shown in the accepted proposal.
Unless stated otherwise, the balance of a standard booking is charged automatically to the same payment method used for the deposit, fourteen days before the event, under the express authorisation collected with the order next to the acceptance of these terms. The balance includes any differences due for accepted changes. Three days before the charge the customer receives an email stating the exact amount and the payment method to be used (with its last four digits, when the method has them); after the charge, a receipt. The customer may pay the balance manually at any time from the customer area (if the balance is already paid, no automatic charge is made) and may withdraw the authorisation by writing to hello@robertochef.com or through the messages in the customer area; in that case the balance remains due on the stated dates and is paid through the secure link received by email. Payment details are stored by the payment provider (Stripe) and are never accessible to Roberto. If the automatic charge fails, the customer is notified and receives a secure link to pay the balance, including with a payment method other than the one used for the deposit; a single further attempt is made on the same payment method on the following day, after which the balance is paid only through that link.
For every payment received, deposit and balance included, Roberto issues an invoice made out to the customer with the billing details given in the order. The payment provider’s receipt is not an invoice.
An unsuccessful, reversed or disputed payment does not confirm the booking. If the balance is not paid when due, Roberto sends a reminder and may suspend organisation and performance until payment is received. Mandatory consumer rights and duties of fairness and proportionality remain unaffected.
Venue, access and customer responsibilities
The customer confirms lawful access for Roberto to the location, permission from the owner where needed, and accurate information on address, parking, stairs, lifts, access, kitchen, refrigeration, electricity, water, animals, works and property restrictions. The customer or host confirms that use of the kitchen and necessary areas is permitted.
Roberto may request photographs and technical information, check the kitchen or propose an adaptation. If actual conditions make the service unsafe, unlawful or materially different from what was declared, Roberto promptly informs the customer and seeks a reasonable solution. If safe performance is not possible, the service may be suspended or not performed; the financial consequences are assessed according to cause, evidence and applicable mandatory rights.
Guests, menu and changes
The customer is responsible for the accuracy of guest count, children’s ages, preferences and dietary requests. The final count and menu are those in the summary or later written confirmation. Changes may be requested more than fourteen days before the event and are effective only once Roberto confirms them in writing. Guest additions are possible only where availability and capacity permit, and may cause an additional price, which is added to the balance or, if the balance has already been paid, is paid straight away. A change of package is not a change to the order: the order is cancelled under the cancellation rules and a new one is placed. In cooking classes, after payment, a booking can move from two to three preparations but not from three to two.
Changes that lower the price, such as fewer guests, are not a customer right: the date is reserved for the service, and the request applies only if Roberto confirms it in writing. Where such a change is accepted, the price is recalculated and the difference is applied to the amount still to be paid, so the balance goes down. What the customer has already paid is not returned: if more than thirty days remain before the event, the share of the difference already paid is granted as credit usable for a new service; if thirty days or fewer remain, no refund and no credit are due.
The first change is free of charge, apart from any price difference; from the second, each further change requested by the customer carries a contribution of 30 euro towards the reorganisation work, shown in the change summary before the customer confirms and due also where the change does not alter the price. Changes proposed or made necessary by Roberto are never counted and carry no contribution.
Allergens, intolerances and diets
The customer communicates all relevant allergies, intolerances and diets for every guest by the stated deadline and confirms authority to provide that information. Roberto uses the data only to assess and, where possible, prepare the service. The customer must not send medical certificates or unnecessary additional information.
Roberto provides information on allergens in the preparations and follows food-safety procedures. In a third-party kitchen, absolute absence of traces or uncontrollable contamination cannot be promised. Severe allergies, anaphylaxis risk or requests incompatible with the kitchen or menu are assessed before acceptance. If safety cannot reasonably be ensured, Roberto may refuse the individual dish or service and proposes a proportionate solution based on when the information was received.
Commercial cancellation policy
Cancellation requests must be sent to hello@robertochef.com or through the customer area named in the confirmation. The relevant time is when the system receives the request. Unless mandatory rights give the customer a more favourable remedy: more than thirty days before the event, a full refund of the amount paid in cash or credit of the same amount chosen by the customer; fifteen to thirty days before, a fifty percent cash refund or credit of the full amount paid chosen by the customer; within fourteen days, no commercial refund and the balance remains due.
Specific third-party costs may be excluded from a refund only if disclosed and approved before purchase and genuinely non-recoverable. Credit is voluntary, non-transferable, usable for a new service under the instructions received, and does not replace a cash refund that is due by law. Credit is valid for twelve months from the date it is issued: within that period the customer must confirm a new booking by applying the code received, while the date of the new service may fall later. The expiry date is stated in the email that delivers the code and in the customer area, and the customer receives an email reminder thirty days before it. After that date the credit can no longer be used and cannot be converted into money. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected, as does the cash refund that these terms grant for the applicable cancellation band, which the customer may request instead of credit at the time of cancellation. The same rules apply to credit arising from a change to the order and to the remainder of a voucher larger than the order, which keeps the expiry date of the voucher it comes from.
If Roberto cancels
If Roberto cancels the service for any reason that does not depend on the customer, including illness or another personal impediment, the customer receives a full refund of everything paid for that order, in money, whatever the date of the cancellation. Any part paid with a voucher or credit is returned as credit. At the customer’s request, a new date or credit of the same amount may be agreed instead of the refund.
Withdrawal rights
For contracts concluded at a distance the law normally gives consumers a fourteen-day right of withdrawal. That right does not apply to services related to leisure activities with a specific date of performance (Article 59(1)(n) of the Italian Consumer Code): this is the case for the lunches, dinners and classes booked for a date, and the order summary states it clearly before payment. The more favourable commercial cancellation rules above and all mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected. The exclusion does not cover a voucher bought at a distance without a service date: for such a voucher the fourteen-day right of withdrawal applies.
Exceptional events and responsibility
Each party promptly informs the other of an event beyond reasonable control that prevents or makes the service unsafe, including emergencies, authority measures, exceptional weather, sudden venue unavailability, essential failures or serious illness. The parties first seek rescheduling or an equivalent solution. If not possible, they apply a remedy proportionate to the cause and non-recoverable amounts, without affecting mandatory rights. Where the event concerns Roberto, the full refund described under “If Roberto cancels” always applies.
Independent suppliers
Roberto may point the customer, also through the website, to independent suppliers, for example for wine, table linen, flowers, rentals or a photographer. If the customer asks, Roberto passes the request to the supplier in the customer’s name and on the customer’s behalf. Each supplier makes its own offer, invoices and collects payment directly from the customer and is responsible for its own performance; before confirming, the customer is told who the supplier is, the price and the terms, including cancellation terms. Roberto does not sell these products or services, does not collect payments for suppliers and receives no commission or other benefit from them.
Reviews
The reviews shown on this website were published on Google by their authors, under their own accounts, and are reproduced word for word with a link to the original source. Google does not check that the author was a customer, and Roberto carries out no further checks. Roberto does not ask for reviews in exchange for discounts, gifts or other benefits.
Damage, complaints and governing law
Roberto is responsible for the obligations directly assumed in the summary or proposal. The customer promptly reports damage, service issues or complaints and, where reasonable, permits verification of the facts. The customer is not required to waive remedies granted by law.
Complaints may be sent to hello@robertochef.com with the order number and a clear description. Roberto responds within a reasonable time and manages refunds or remedies with written evidence. Italian law applies. For consumers, every mandatory jurisdiction rule remains applicable, including the court of the consumer’s residence or domicile where required.
Electronic acceptance and contact details
Electronic acceptance of these terms is recorded with the order, language, date and time. The customer receives a copy of the contract information on a durable medium by email or customer area. For bookings, changes, cancellations, complaints, payments, invoices, general information and privacy: hello@robertochef.com, phone +39 366 456 0063.
