What you will find here
You will find practical planning guides, documented notes from real services and articles about the dishes themselves: their origins, techniques and the adjustments required when they are prepared in a private villa rather than a restaurant kitchen.

Agency, marketplace or the chef who actually cooks: what you are paying for
Whichever way you book a private chef in Tuscany, ask who will cook in your kitchen, who you can talk to before you pay, what the price includes, who does the shopping and what is written down. Roberto Chef is Roberto Parato, a chef who works in person. It is not an agency and does not recruit chefs.

A family week in a Tuscan villa: which nights to book the private chef
A private chef at a villa works one service a day, and the usual one is dinner. Book the nights you would otherwise spend shopping and cooking for the whole table, and leave the others free. A single dinner is booked online for its date. A week with Roberto is a personal request: he answers it himself, and it depends on his being free on those days.

A cooking class in your villa or a cooking school in town? An honest comparison
A school in town gives you a classroom, fixed hours and other travelers at the table.

Can we book a cooking class in our rented villa? What to ask the owner, and what the kitchen needs
Usually yes, once the owner or manager has agreed. Ask before you book anything, because some rental agreements do not allow outside chefs or extra people in the house. The class itself asks little of a kitchen: a stovetop, an oven, some fridge space and a clear countertop.
